Things To Do In Central Ohio – April 2019

Just in time for spring…take me out to the ballgame, egg hunts, earth day activities, a book festival, and butterflies!

Egg Scramble
When: April 12, 2019, at 6:30 p.m.
Where: McCord Park, 333 E. Wilson Bridge Road, Worthington 43085
Annual egg hunt! Children will be able to hunt for candy and toy filled eggs at 6:30 p.m. sharp. Egg hunt areas will be divided by age.

Ohio State Football Spring Game
When: April 13, 2019, approximate 12:00 noon start time
Where: Ohio Stadium
This annual event is the perfect opportunity, at an affordable price, to get outside and enjoy some Ohio State football! Tickets are $5 and parking is free. Capacity is capped at around 76,000 due to construction work inside of the stadium. Arrive early and tailgate!

Pups and Peeps Egg Hunt
When: April 13, 2019, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Where: Rocky Fork Metro Park, 7180 Walnut Street, Westerville 43081
Why should the kids have all the fun? Bring your dog to this egg hunt so your favorite furry family member can join in on the fun!

Easter Egg Hunt and Family Day
When: April 20, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Where: Veterans Park, 1121 S. Houk Road, Delaware 43015
FREE egg hunts at 9:30 and 11:00! Plus, the Easter Bunny and inflatables. Bring your own basket. Ages 1-9.

Earth Day
When: April 20, 2019, from 12:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Where: Genoa Park in Downtown Columbus
Events range from neighborhood litter sweeps, community gardens, river cleanups to tree planting and invasive species removal. A week of service activities (April 13-20), followed by a celebration at Genoa Park on Saturday, April 20. Sign up to donate, sponsor or volunteer!

Columbus Clippers Baseball
When: April 23-28, 2019
Where: Huntington Park
The Columbus Clippers, the Triple-A Affiliate of the Cleveland Indians, will be back in action at Huntington Park on April 23. You can even catch a game over lunch on April 25. Ring your bell!

Ohioana Book Festival
When: April 27, 2019, from 10:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Where: Columbus Metropolitan Library, 96 S. Grant Avenue, Columbus 43215
FREE! Connect with your favorite writers from Ohio – roughly 100 authors plan to attend this annual event.

Capital City Half Marathon
When: April 27, 2019, at 8:00 a.m.
Where: Start and Finish on High Street, just steps from the Byers Xtra Mile Finish Line Party at the Columbus Commons
The best tour of Columbus on two feet! Participate in the Capital City Half Marathon, the Quarter Marathon, or the Commit To Be Fit 5K.

Earth Day Hilliard
When: April 27, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon
Where: Hilliard Community Center, 3800 Veterans Memorial Drive, Hilliard 43026
Fun activities for kids! Learn more about composting, energy efficiency, and water conservation. Recycling drives too!

Blooms & Butterflies
When: now-September 15, 2019
Where: Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, 1777 East Broad Street, Columbus 43203
25th Anniversary! Spring returns with hundreds of colorful butterflies! Newly emerged butterflies are released during educational presentations daily at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Check out classes for kids and adults, as well as other events…fun for the whole family!
