Green Bean Christmas Salad

The perfect side dish for your holiday gatherings!  Nutritious too!


16 ounces frozen green beans, cooked and drained
2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved
1 cup toasted hazelnuts (toast on cookie sheet at 350 for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally)
1 small shallot, finely chopped
1/3 cup salad oil
2 teaspoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1 teaspoon dijon mustard
1/8 teaspoon sweet basil

Mix dressing ingredients together and pour over cooked beans. 
Marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
Add shallots, tomatoes, and hazelnuts and chill an additional 30 minutes before serving.
**Could serve with pine nuts instead of hazelnuts, if preferred.
