Never Fail Pie Crust
3 cups flour
1 ¼ cups shortening (I use yellow Crisco)
1 teaspoon salt
1 egg, well beaten
5 tablespoons water
1 tablespoon vinegar
Cut shortening into flour and salt. Combine egg, vinegar, and water; pour liquid into flour mixture all at one time. Blend with a spoon just until all the flour is moistened. Work with your hands, then roll out your pie crust. This is an easy crust to handle and can be rerolled without toughening. May be stored in refrigerator for two weeks. Yields: 2 crusts for 8 or 9 inch pies.
