Happy New Year! With a new year comes new things to do, and that could not be more true in Central Ohio and surrounding areas. From relaxing indoor activities, to family-fun days, Central Ohio has plenty to offer to residents and visitors alike. Here are five things going on near you this month.


Winter Break Kids Cooking Camp

When: December 29 – January 2

Admission: $30 – $35

Bring your kids out to Young Chef’s Academy so they can have the opportunity to enjoy the art of cooking, while on their holiday break. When signing up, you will have the opportunity to choose from Chopped, New Years Eve Fun Foods, Frozen or Winter Cupcake Wars.


Music at the Conservatory: Ira Twangs

When: January 1

Admission: $6 – $12

Ring in the New Year with the Ira Twangs. This musical performance will be held in the atrium of the Franklin Park Conservatory and will be fun for the whole family to enjoy on the first day of the year.


Fabulous Fridays – Live Local Music with Jim Volk

When: January 2

Admission: Free to attend

Head out to Wyandotte Winery with your significant other, or a group of friends, for a great night out. Enjoy live music with great music, delicious food and even better wine. This relaxed environment will be a perfect ending to a crazy week.


Family Fun: Snow-Inspired Crafts

When: January 3

Admission: $6 – $12

Gather the family and head out to the Franklin Park Conservatory for what is sure to be a great afternoon of family fun! You will have the opportunity to create snow-inspired crafts to embrace the beautiful winter season.


Hocking Hills Winter Hike

When: January 17

Admission: Free

It might be cold outside, but don’t stay cooped up all winter long. Join in on the Hocking Hills Winter Hike and witness the beauty of winter as the waterfalls freeze and cave walls are covered in ice beards.
